[2008.2.20 15:20:47]Li Qun:The Shandong (International) Cultural Industry Expo 2008, sponsored by the Shandong Provincial People`s Government, will be held in Jinan from September 19 to 22, 2008, and from September 27 to 30 in Jining. Today, we hold a press conference here and the starting ceremony of the expo.

[2008.2.20 15:23:12]Li Qun:In combination with China (Qufu) International Confucian Cultural Festival, Shandong (International) Cultural Expo 2008 will be making efforts to promote the planning and construction of such cultural projects as the City of Chinese Cultural Symbol, to make bigger and stronger the Confucian cultural brand, and to strive to become an international, specialized, and commercialized grand occasion of the cultural industry.

Efforts will be made to fully tap and bring into full play Lu culture, Qi culture, folk culture, Red culture, and modern culture, which have rich content, long-standing charm, and the advantages of colorful cultural resources, to expand the influence of Qilu culture, and to make prominent the style of Qilu culture.

The expo will make use of the advantage that our province is located in the centre of the Northeast Asian economic zone, with Japan and South Korea across the sea, promote the international cooperation and docking in cultural industry, and forge a new visiting card of Shandong culture from an international perspective.

[2008.2.20 15:25:07]Li Qun:3. Emphasis will be given to cultural creative concepts. Information concerning cultural creative industry`s capitals, technology, personnel and products will be widely collected and exchanged, and greater efforts will be made to attract more investments and to promote regional industrial cooperation. Cultural creative activities such as creative designs, advertising concepts, and FLASH creation will be organized in order to demonstrate the outstanding cultural creative achievements.

The principle of "government leadership, social participation, the operation of market, and regulated management" will be followed and the operational experience of the first cultural industry expo will be summed up and spread so as to manage, develop and operate the cultural industry expos.

Full use will be made of newspapers, radio, television, the Internet and other media, a variety of forms of publicity and recommendation, public interactive activities and cultural activities will be carried out to attract the broad participation of all circles of the society.

A grand and pragmatic opening ceremony and a closing ceremony for the cultural industry expo will be held, a large-scale theatrical show will be presented. A summary and recognition meeting for the cultural industry expo will be held, at which "the Award for the provincial outstanding contribution to the development of cultural industry" will be presented and "the top 30 enterprises of Shandong cultural industry" will be named.

The place of the expo in Jinan is located in the newly constructed Jinan International Convention and Exhibition Center, with an area of over 50,000 square meters, which isthree times larger than the last one. Centered around the expo`s themes and the "three regions, three gardens, and three zones" of our province`s cultural industry and the ten focal points of development, ten exhibition halls are set up, which are the comprehensive hall and the halls for digital animation, for radio, film and television, for news and publishing, for culture and entertainment, for creative designs, for advertising, for the overseas, for tourism and sport, and for folk industry.

[2008.2.20 15:29:33]Li Qun:The place of the expo in Jining is located in the newly constructed Jining Confucian Cultural Exhibition Centre (Qufu City), and the expo is held at the same time as the Ninth China`s Patent and High-tech Products Fair. The particular exhibition areas set up are the area for the City of Chinese Cultural Symbol, the area for Confucian culture, the Grand Canal culture, and Shuihu culture, the area for folk culture, and the area for tourist products.

[2008.2.20 15:30:30]Li Qun:Business negotiations. The present cultural industry expo will highlight the commercial development of cultural resources. With emphasis on the discussion about the creative design and construction of the City of Chinese Cultural Symbol, various types of programs of cultural industry will be publicized and recommended, business negotiations for projects and trade of products of cultural content will be conducted.

[2008.2.20 15:32:23]Li Qun:Cultural Festival. The Shandong Provincial Art Festival, the first Shandong International Animation and Cartoon Festival, and Shandong Provincial Book Fair will be held in Jinan.

[2008.2.20 15:33:12]Li Qun:Contests. The collection and selection of the best design for the expo`s mascot, song and activity and for creative concepts will be made. A series of feature films and publicity films will be collected and produced and a series of advertisements of the expo`s image will be released.

[2008.2.20 15:34:38]Li Qun:Forum summits. During the cultural industry expo, a forum on the creative concept of the City of Chinese cultural Symbol, a forum of World Confucian businessmen, an international forum on the development of cultural industry, and other specialized forums will be held, on which summit dialogs and extensive discussions will be made on the hot issues of the development of cultural industry.
