A recovered alcoholic is considering setting up an anti-drinking hospital in Shandong Province, which he believes has the nation''s most alcoholics.

Yang''s penchant for wine earned him the title "King of wine drinkers." He used to be able to drink 3 kilograms of liquor per day. He was sent to psychiatric hospitals seven times and was fired from his job as a police official. But when in 2000 he read a letter from his wife about her rotten marital luck, he decided to put down the bottle. He achieved his goal only after locking himself in a room for four months.

In 2003 Yang opened a hotline that has since helped over 10,000 alcoholics. A TV station in Shandong Province recently invited him to play the lead in a TV series based on his experiences.
