A student in Jinan, Shandong Province, has been criticized for risking his family''s future for a training course.

Cong, who comes from a poor farming family, persuaded his father to sell land the family was planning to build a house on to pay for a training course.

The student hopes the 15,000 yuan (US$1,852) enterprise risk management course will help him land a handsomely paying job.

But objectors warn investing so much is risky since getting such a job would require rich work experience as well as training.
