A veteran from Shandong Province has spent 40 years searching for one of his comrades in order to return 4 yuan (49 US cents) he once borrowed from him.

During intensive army training in the winter of 1964, Zhong borrowed the money to buy something for his elderly mother for that year''s Spring Festival.

The two later lost contact after their training ended. Zhong''s son recently found the benefactor, allowing the two old veterans to finally reunite.
