More foreign leaders congratulate Hu on reelection as CPC general secretary
  BEIJING, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- More leaders of foreign countries,political parties and organizations have continued to send congratulatory messages to Chinese President Hu Jintao over his reelection as general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

    Singaporean President S. R. Nathan said in his message that China has made remarkable accomplishments since reform was launched in 1978. Under Hu`s leadership much progress has been made in building a "harmonious society" and attaining scientific development. He expressed the belief that under Hu`s leadership China will continue to make progress and overcome the challenges that lie ahead.

    Jalal Al-Talabani, Iraqi president and general secretary of thePatriotic Union of Kurdistan, said in his message that Hu`s reelection reflects the trust of more than 70 million CPC members in the vital leadership of the Party Central Committee, and his reelection will help further consolidate the friendship and cooperation between the two countries and the two parties.

    Nigerian President Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar`Adua, in his message, expressed his sincere congratulations on Hu`s reelection.

    He said China`s ties with Africa, with Nigeria in particular, "have attained great heights within this period culminating in thepresent strategic partnerships," which conforms to the mutual benefit of the two countries and their peoples. He expressed Nigeria`s sincere desire to further nourish and expand the areas and scopes of bilateral cooperation.

    Ugandan President and Chairman of the National Resistance Movement Yoweri Kaguta Museveni congratulated Hu`s reelection, adding that his party "salute the important resolution" of the CPCCongress on the consolidation of the "Scientific Outlook on Development," which keeps China firmly on the road to rapid and successful reform, opening up and socialist modernization.

    Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf said in her message that Hu`s reelection was an affirmation of the confidence the Chinese people have in his ability to lead them and stems from thevery rapid progress China has witnessed in recent years under the "farsighted" leadership of Hu.

    She expressed the hope that the cordial ties between Liberia and China will be deepened and the scope of cooperation broadened to the mutual benefit of the two countries.

    Benin President Thomas Boni Yayi extended "warmest congratulations" to Hu`s reelection and expressed confidence that the friendship, cooperation and solidarity between the two countries would be further strengthened.

    President of Guinea Bissau Joao Bernardo Vieira reiterated thathe would make all his best to further consolidate and develop the existing friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries and bring benefits to the two peoples.

    President of Equatorial Guinea and President of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo said he believed the basis for the cooperation between his party and the CPC would be more solid with Hu`s reelection and the existing bilateral friendly cooperation in key areas concerning people`s well-being would be further developed.

 President of Comoros Ahmed Abdallah Mohamed Sambi wished that President Hu would lead the Chinese people to still greater success and continue to implement the notion of building a harmonious society. He hoped China will make further achievements in the fields of environmental protection, energy conservation andscience and technology development.

    Sambi also expressed his willingness to join China in efforts to enhance the friendly relations between Africa and China, especially between Comoros and China.

    Boris Tadic, president of Serbia and chairman of the country`s Democratic Party, congratulated Hu on his reelection as the CPC general secretary.

    Tadic said he was glad that his party and the CPC have recentlyestablished official relations of cooperation. He believed the close ties and frequent communication between the two parties will help further strengthen the traditional friendship and cooperation in all spheres between Serbia and China.

    Vojislav Kostunica, prime minister of Serbia and chairman of the Democratic Party of Serbia, expressed his warmest felicitations on Hu`s reelection as CPC`s general secretary. He extended his heartfelt wish that the Chinese people will achieve the goals set by the 17th CPC National Congress.

    He also expressed his firm belief that the friendly relations, mutual support and economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries will enjoy long-term development.

    Navinchandra Ramgoolam, prime minister of Mauritius and leader of the Mauritius Labor Party, said in his message that President Hu`s reelection has reconfirmed Chinese people`s trust in his leadership.

    He said he is confident that President Hu will "courageously persevere on the path chosen by China for rapid development" and for the "consolidation of China`s presence on the international scene."

    Pravind Jugnauth, leader of the Socialist Militant Movement of Mauritius, said he was convinced that under President Hu`s leadership, China will be able to "address all the major challenges for the betterment of the people of China and on the world scene" where China is "a powerful voice."

    Jugnauth hoped that "the strong ties of cooperation" between the two parties will be further consolidated to promote the "common purpose for the benefit, progress and prosperity" of the two peoples.

    In his message, Blade Nzimande, general secretary of the South African Communist Party, congratulated Hu on his reelection, saying the significant achievement gained in the 17th CPC NationalCongress will "accelerate the socialist construction from its primary phase to build a harmonious society and provide for the material needs of the people of China."

    Hama Amadou, president of the National Movement for the Societyof Development of Niger conveyed felicitations on President Hu`s reelection.

    He also expressed his willingness to further develop and consolidate the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two parties.

    Mahamat Hissene, general secretary of the Patriotic Movement ofSalvation of Chad, offered his warmest felicitation on Hu`s reelection, as well as on the achievements attained by the CPC since its 16th National Congress.

    He said the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Chad and China has offered bright prospects for the cooperation between the two parties and the governments of the two nations. Heexpressed his party`s willingness to enhance the relations betweenthe two parties, and a strong interest in learning from the success of the CPC.

    Affi N`guessan Pascal, chairman of the Cote D`Ivoire People`s Front and vice president of the Socialist International, said in his message that his party is ready to strengthen the cooperation between the two parties for the benefit of the two peoples.

    Mpho Malie, general secretary of the Lesotho Congress for Democracy, said the CPC`s program of "developing a well-off Chinese society that ensures balanced economic growth and social justice by 2020, all these done following the path of peaceful development is there for all of us to emulate."

    Marcelo Schilling, general secretary of the Socialist Party of Chile, congratulated Hu on his reelection as general secretary of the CPC and wished him greater achievements for the benefit of theChinese people on this highly esteemed position.

    Sergio Bitar, chairman of the Party for Democracy of Chile, andPepe Auth, general secretary of the party, said they believed the resolutions adopted at the 17th CPC National Congress will help attain the goal of building a harmonious socialist society with higher degree of social equality and justice.

    He also expressed his party`s hope to further promote the cooperation with the CPC.

    Oh Choong-il, chairman of the United New Democratic Party of the Republic of Korea, expressed his belief that the CPC under Hu`s leadership will play a greater role in achieving national development and the well-being of the people and safeguarding peace and stability in northeast Asia.

    Soetrisno Bachir, general chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) of Indonesia, and Zulkifli Hasan, secretary general ofthe PAN, expressed their hope that the new leadership of the CPC would bring a new look to China`s domestic and foreign affairs.
