A victim of a housebreaking in Qingdao, Shandong Province, counted himself lucky as the burglar overlooked most of the valuables. The man surnamed Zhang returned home on Sunday from a week-long tour. He found many gold accessories, at least 7,000 yuan ($943) in value, stolen. He then rushed into his study where he had placed dozens of valuable calligraphy scrolls, paintings and jade objects - all of which were kept intact. Police are investigating the case.
