Twenty construction workers dug out their buried co-worker from beneath a mound of earth with their bare hands, on Tuesday, in Qingdao, Shandong Province.

The 50-something laborer, surnamed Yan, was digging a 2-m-deep ditch when the nearby mound of earth collapsed on him. Rescuers worked for 15 minutes before Yan was found.

He was rushed to hospital with a fractured spine but doctors said he would fully recover thanks to the quick actions of his workmates.
