Fei Chen, a 44-year-old man from Jinan, capital of Shandong Province, was united with his mother in Yibin, Sichuan Province, last Sunday after 44 years.

As a young boy, Fei learned from neighbors he was adopted. Because his adopting family was so kind to him, he did not search for his biological mother before his surrogate parents passed away 10 years ago.

Fei recently met his cousin, whom he had not seen for many years. He told Fei that his mother Yao Qiaoying left for Sichuan immediately after giving birth to Fei, because she believed she was too poor to give him a good life.

With the help of police in Shandong, Fei tracked down his mother in Yibin and visited her during her 71st birthday last Sunday.

Yao was so excited to see her son. She said she had not expected to see him again in her lifetime.
