Police have returned home a 12-year-old boy who cycled 370 km from his home in Linyi, Shandong Province.

The boy fled after his teacher noticed 22 yuan ($2.82) was missing from his school expenses payment and told his father.

The boy left home on his bicycle, sleeping by the road and surviving on stolen food for 10 days.

On Monday he was caught stealing from a supermarket in Jinan, capital of the province.

Police contacted the boy''s parents and he was returned home.
