A 10-year-old boy in Qingdao, Shandong Province, surprised his parents on Sunday by hiring a domestic helper to liberate his parents from house chores.

The mother, surnamed Sun, said a young woman came to their residence saying that somebody in the family had hired her to be a helping hand. Sun later found out that it was her third-grade son who paid the woman out of his pocket money.

The boy said he hired the helper because his parents were too busy in their jobs to have the energy in look after the family. A local education expert suggested the parents talk with their son before they make decisions on family issues.
