A man in Xintai, Shandong Province, who sought help from police to end his life, is alive and well. The man phoned the police and asked for suggestions on how to quickly end his life.

On September 2, a policeman surnamed Ge received a call from the young man who said he tried but failed to end his life. Ge then tried to convince the man to give up the idea but he also dispatched a group of policemen to find him.

During their conversation, Ge learned the man`s name and address. After they searched for a while, police found the man on the ground with knife blades in his mouth.

The man was sent to a hospital immediately and is recovering.
