Road to riches starts in high school

A high school student in Qingdao, Shandong Province, tasted financial success even before he started college. After he invested in the market, he was so successful that he wants to become a professional financial dealer after he graduates from the university.

Zhang Qiang, 19, learned to invest in the stock market from his father when he was still a junior high school student in 2004. That summer, Zhang earned several thousand yuan from the market. He stopped investing later due to a tight study schedule in high school. This summer, after he passed the national college entrance exams, Zhang borrowed 40,000 yuan ($5,263) from his father and invested it in the market. Zhang said the money he earned could cover his university tuition for four years. Zhang chose to major in securities at Shanghai Financial University.
