A quick-thinking woman scared burglars away in the middle of the night by barking like a dog.

Li, a resident of Qingdao, Shandong province, was woken by noise in her living room on Nov 17 while her husband was away on business.

She soon realized the kitchen window she had left open the night before had given the intruders easy access.

Just as the thieves were about to open her bedroom door, she began barking like a dog and scared them away.
