A man surnamed Tie was put behind bars for three days after telling security guards that he was trying to carrying a bomb onto a flight from Beijing to Jinan, Shandong province. He had had a fight with security guards at Beijing Capital International Airport after they confiscated his toothpaste while checking in on Monday. Tie had run afoul of a new rule that took effect on Friday that prohibits passengers from carrying toothpaste in their carry-on luggage. He was so upset that he shouted that the toothpaste contained explosives. The security guards called police, who found no explosives inside the toothpaste. Tie was the first passenger to be taken into custody for violating the airport`s new rules. |
